Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has succeeded in securing central government participation in the Hyderabad Metro project. What was earlier a state-private partnership with L&T is now set to transition into a 50:50 joint venture between the Centre and the Telangana government. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar indicated that proposals for nearly 162 kilometres of new metro corridors are under review. A final decision on Phase-2 expansion is expected by March. The move is seen as a major boost to Hyderabad’s urban mobility and long-term infrastructure growth.
